The Aeon of Horus or the Age of Aquarius?

Are the 'Age of Aquarius' and Aleister Crowley's 'Aeon of Horus' synonymous? What is the metaphysical basis for these alleged aeons? Here we present a brief metaphysical and historical analysis that strongly indicates the death of the collective mindset, and that Aquarius brings not healing but division and strife as the individual increasingly rejects the mother of lies - collectivism.

  1. I have meditated at length on whether the Age of Aquarius and the Aeon of Horus are aligned.

I have always considered this to be so.

The Age Of Aquarius to me represents the rise of the individual over the dogma of state and religion. As an Air sign - and the sign of the individual, it represents free thought, communication and and increase in the arts and intelect. The age of Thelema!

I see the rise of the technological age to be a clear indication that the age has begun. Through the WWW and the phenomenon of blogs, email, forums and social networking sites never before in human history have individuals been able to communicate and share to the extent that is now possible.

This power to share thought, news, etc above the state approved and controlled "approved" forms of media will accelerate the erosion of dogma.

Crowley was clear that the transition to a new Aeon involves strife. Likewise analysis of history shows similar periods of strife during the transitions from Taurus to Aries, and of course from Aries to Pisces.

I have always been curious as to why AC did not comment on the releationship between the new Aeon and the age of aquarius - especially as he was an expert in Astrology.

To me the two are linked - the product of the marriage of fire and water.

I do not think they are exactly the same. The Aeon of the crowned and conquering child begun of course nearly a hundred years ago. If you accept that the Age of Aquarius begun/begins sometime between 1960 and 2016 then there is a time difference - and the wheel had already obviously begun to turn back in the first part of the last century. I do beleive that the two are different but complamentary. To me it is fitting and balanced that the new zodiac age is harmonius with the new Aeon. Perhaps it was inevitable that the start of the new Aeon would ride upon a new zodic age so complementary and irresistable to its aims.
